The Ibrahim Hyderi police have arrested a man for stabbing and injuring a woman he wanted to marry and her husband.
Police said the suspect barged into a house in Ilyas Goth in the Ibrahim Hyderi area on 31 October 2024 and stabbed the woman he loved and her husband.
Other persons present in the house, however, caught the suspect, identified as Hanif, and handed him over to police.
The injured couple were rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where they were admitted.
Police said they had arrested Hanif and also recovered a sharp knife from his possession that he had used to stab the couple.
Citing initial investigations, police said a few months ago, the woman was angry with her husband and went to Hanif who was in love with her. Police added that a few days ago, the woman returned to her husband.
According to police, Hanif entered the woman’s house in a fit of rage and attacked the couple with the knife with the intention of killing them, and he had also confessed to his crime. Further investigations are underway.
