District East police arrested a rickshaw driver after a video clip showing him harassing and misbehaving with a woman surfaced on social media. Sohrab Goth SHO Mumtaz Marwat said the woman had recorded the incident, which occurred at a deserted location, on her phone.
The SHO said the woman had also appealed to senior officials for justice. Following the video’s circulation, District East police chief DIG Dr Farrukh Ali took immediate notice and ordered prompt police action.
Police later arrested the suspect, who was identified as Usman Bangash, and registered a case against him on charges of harassment, attempted sexual assault, and kidnapping.
