The construction of Karachi Education City should be made environment-friendly by utilizing the latest technology, said Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, on September 2.
Officials stated that a meeting of the Board of Directors of Karachi Education City was jointly chaired by Chairman Education City Board Dr Asim Hussain and Special Assistant to the CM Sindh on Investment and Public-Private Partnership, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar.
The meeting held at the Finance and Trade Centre of Karachi Education City, was attended by Dr Hussain via video link, along with the Secretary Sindh Investment Department, members of the Board of Directors, Project Director, and senior officers of the Sindh Investment Department.
Project Director Abrar Sheikh read out the minutes of the previous board meeting and presented the new agenda items for approval. During the session, Qamar directed that the construction must adopt eco-friendly practices by incorporating modern technology. The consultant also provided a detailed briefing on the construction progress through maps, charts, and photographs.
The board was informed that the FAST Institute had requested approval of its site plan to begin construction work in collaboration with international IT companies Google and Apple. The board approved the request on the condition of the mandatory participation of Google and Apple in the FAST’s project, while also emphasising the need for speedy progress.
