Eight suspects, including two women, were arrested on September 15 after the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi police launched a crackdown on online drug sellers in the city.
According to the SIU police spokesperson, the operation was conducted under the directives of the Additional IG Karachi. During raids in Samanabad, Sharae Noor Jahan, and SITE-A areas, more than 26 kilograms of narcotics, including heroin, hashish, and cocaine, were recovered from the suspects.
The spokesperson explained that the arrested individuals procured drugs from Hub and Winder and distributed them across Karachi through online networks. He added that drugs were also being supplied to upscale neighborhoods as well as to students of colleges and universities.
The suspects arrested include Amjad, Asad, Mir Afghan, Shah Rukh, Wasay, and Mehboob, along with two women drug peddlers identified as Lali and Mehrunnisa. A case has been registered against them at the SIU, and further investigations are underway.
