The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has entered in collaboration with the Labour and Human Resources Department, Government of Sindh. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Pakistan, centering around the pivotal theme of Pakistan Labour Academy (PLA) 2024. The MOU signing ceremony in the presence of Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho the Chairperson of SHRC, Mr. Abdullah Dayo, Program Advisor FES Pakistan and Mr. Saddaruddin Soomro, Acting Director General NILAT, signifying the collaborative commitment to labor training programs and human rights education. Secretary Labour, Mr. Shariq Ahmed, added further significance to this historic event.
This visionary partnership signals a new era in championing imparting Labor education in the aspects of industrial relations, workers’ rights, and social justice in Sindh.
Together, they aim to create a powerful alliance, uniting FES-Pakistan, SHRC, and the Labour Department to enhance government infrastructure for optimized utilization in labor training programs. This dynamic partnership seeks to uplift industrial relations, workers’ rights, and social justice in Pakistan.
SHRC takes the lead in launching the second batch of the Pakistan Labour Academy at NILAT Karachi, aligning with its strategic plan to collaborate with training institutions for human rights education related to labor issues. FES Pakistan, overseeing logistics, will equip NILAT’s . This collaboration is a testament to their commitment to fostering decent work environments, adhering to international labor standards, and promoting social dialogue.
