KARACHI: City Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and his deputy Salman Abdullah Murad on Saturday conducted a series of visits to various areas to assess the efficacy of water drainage systems and issued instructions to initiate drainage operations. The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) managing director is overseeing the progress of drainage arrangements, ensuring the active participation of all officers and staff.

The workforce swiftly made necessary arrangements to tackle the aftermath of the rainfall, efficiently carrying out the drainage work. To extend assistance and support to affected citizens, instructions were given to set up relief camps across all zones. Consequently, officers and staff remained on the streets until late at night, making substantial headway in clearing several roads by effectively draining the accumulated water.
