The Steel Town police have registered a case in connection with the abduction of a police officer.
The FIR No 40/24 under sections 365 and 34 was filed against unidentified suspects on the complaint of Steel Town SHO Muhammad Khan.
According to the complainant, he was on routine patrol when at around 1:45 pm, Inspector Habibullah Shahani informed him over the phone that he had stopped a dumper in Wali Town Compound, Nishterabad Goth. The dumper was loaded with sand on top and betel nut bags concealed underneath.
A dispute and scuffle broke out between him and the dumper crew. Upon hearing this, SHO Muhammad Khan immediately proceeded to the location, arriving there at around 2:30 pm, where he was informed by Constable Sabir Gujjar that four armed suspects had forcibly abducted Inspector Habibullah Shahani in his own Alto car and fled towards the National Highway.
Upon reaching the National Highway with his team, SHO Khan found Inspector Habibullah’s car parked near a PSO pump in Nishterabad Goth. Further inquiry revealed that the suspects had forced Inspector Habibullah out of his car and transferred him into a Vigo vehicle, escaping towards the city.
The complainant alleged that four unidentified suspects had kidnapped the police officer at gunpoint. The Steel Town police have stated that the investigations are underway.
