The Sindh Human Rights Commission has taken cognisance against the alarming surge in child marriages in District Dadu Sindh Province.SHRC issued letters to ascertain the factors in the surge of child marriages to the Director General of the Sindh Child Protection Authority and the Senior Superintendent of Police Dadu District, for immediate intervention.
In response, the Sindh Child Protection Authority has formed a Special Fact-Finding Committee to thoroughly investigate the disturbing rise in child marriages as reported by the media.
SHRC is committed as an oversight and monitoring body to ensuring the safety and rights of every child.
