The federal government has urged the non-profit Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT) to be a partner in the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
The offer to this effect was extended by PM’s Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, who visited the head office of the trust here.
Khan acknowledged that the Saylani Trust had already been implementing the aspirations of the present government to brighten the future of the youth in the country. He said the government in partnership with the Saylani Trust would work to empower the Pakistani youth.
He told the SWIT leadership that it was the utmost resolve of the federal government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to impart proper education and vocational training to youth. He acknowledged that the Saylani Trust had already launched such academic and training initiatives.
Khan said the services of the SWIT would be availed for the promotion of education in information technology in Punjab. He told the SWIT office-bearers that Saylani Trust would be a part of the Arfa Karim IT project in Punjab.
The library adjacent to the shrine of Data Ganj Bakhsh in Lahore, which has already been handed over to the Saylani Trust, will also be used to launch an IT training initiative in partnership with the PM’s Youth Programme. The federal government and Saylani Trust will soon sign a memorandum of understanding in this regard.
Khan said he was pleased to meet students enrolled in different training programs of the SWIT enabling them to get proper education, vocational training, and superior moral standards. He said the graduates of the SWIT’s training initiatives would prove to be good ambassadors of Pakistan whenever they would go abroad for higher education or jobs.
Khan informed the SWIT’s office-bearers that Pakistani youth had been facing hardships in getting visas to visit developed countries because of the embarrassing conduct of certain expatriate youngsters abroad as they failed to properly represent Pakistan in other nations.
He opined that Pakistan’s progress was guaranteed till sincere and committed non-profits like Saylani Trust were functional in the country that had been working to empower Pakistani youth.
Khan said he was pleased to witness the services of the SWIT in multiple sectors of life at a time. He said the SWIT had become a successful non-profit as it had practically implemented its programs. Earlier upon his arrival, Khan was warmly welcomed by SWIT Founder Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri, and the chief of the education board of Saylani Trust, Afzal Chamdia. SWIT CEO Madni Bashir Farooq, Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Ghazzal, Amjad Chamdia, and PML-N leader Nihal Hashmi were also present.
