Hyderabad: Commissioner Hyderabad Division Bilal Ahmed Memon on 28 December 2024 imposed a ban on aerial firing for the upcoming New Year’s Eve 2025 under Section 144 of the CrPC.
This ban would be enforced within the limits of Hyderabad Division. In line with Section 195(1)(a) of the CrPC, the Station House Officers (SHOs) of the concerned police stations were authorised to register complaints under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against anyone found violating the ban. The commissioner had urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and prioritise safety during the festivities. He emphasised that strict action would be taken against those who violate the directive.
