Kidnapped Karachi Man Rescued In Joint Operation In Ghotki

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and the Ghotki police have rescued a kidnapped man who had been lured into a honeytrap scheme from Karachi and taken to the Kutcha (riverine) area of Ghotki in interior Sindh.

Shoaib Elahi Bakhsh, 45, had been kidnapped on July 9 in the Jackson area of Karachi after being tricked with a false promise of marriage. The kidnappers then demanded Rs5 million for his release.

FIR No. 279/25 was registered at the Jackson police station under Section 365-A of the Pakistan Penal Code, and the investigation was subsequently transferred to the AVCC/CIA Karachi.

Led by the AVCC/CIA Karachi SSP and the Ghotki SSP, a joint police team used technical methods and human intelligence to trace and rescue the victim.

The operation was carried out in Ghotki’s riverine area, where Bakhsh was safely rescued. However, his kidnappers managed to escape, and a search for their arrest is underway.
