SUKKUR: Federal Minister Ehsanur Rehman Mazari and Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Haji Abdul Rauf Khoso met with the Hindu panchayat and family of hostages — Mukhi Jai Kumar, his son Jai Deep and driver — who were kidnapped from Kandhkot-Kashmore.

The panchayat and affected family informed the federal minister and MPA about the worst law and order situation in Kandhkot-Kashmore district.

They appealed to the lawmakers to get the hostages freed safely from the dacoits.

“We are PPP voters; we do not demand any facility. All we demand is the security of citizens and their properties,” the panchayat demanded.

Mr Mazari told the panchayat that he had talked to Sindh IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon about the deteriorating law and order situation.

He said he had informed the IGP that the district police seemed to be failed in restoring peace and ensuring the security of people and their properties.

Mr Mazari said the dacoits had more advanced weapons than the police officials who were fighting against the outlaws.

He opined that the only solution for the restoration of peace was an army operation for the elimination of dacoits operational in kutcha areas of the district.

Ghotki SSP offers dacoits chance to surrender Gotki SSP Tanveer Husain Tunio has given an offer to dacoits and criminals to surrender, and constituted a committee consisting DSPs of different areas to look after the matter of the outlaws who want to surrender.

The committee will be headed by Ghotki DSP Hafiz Abdul Qadir Chachar, which has been directed to provide assistance to the surrendering dacoits.

According to the police, all the accused who surrender, will be arrested in the cases registered against them and tried in the concerned court of law.
