In a tragic incident in Surjani Town’s Kareemi Chowrangi area, a man allegedly killed his wife and a young son before attempting to take his own life. He was found in a critical condition and has been taken to hospital for medical care. Following the incident, police reached the property and inquired about the incident.
According to police, the bodies of a woman and her son were discovered inside the house, and that the woman’s throat had been slit, while the boy was found dead in unclear circumstances. The woman’s husband was discovered at the scene with a severe throat injury, presumed to be self-inflicted. He was initially taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later moved to the Civil Hospital Karachi due to the severity of his condition. The deceased woman, identified as 35-year-old Sana, was a mother of three. Her two daughters, who were present at home at the time, were safely taken into protective custody by neighbours and later handed over to their uncle.
Police recovered a sharp-edged knife from the scene and took the bodies to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. A large number of residents gathered outside the house upon hearing of the incident. According to a spokesperson for the Karachi Police, the injured suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Faisal, son of Sagheeruddin, who is the husband of the deceased woman and father of the child, identified as 10-year-old Ali. Further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the double murder.
