Protesters Demand Recovery Of Missing Hindu Trader

A protest has been held in Mirpurkhas against the disappearance of a person from Lahore by his family members and civil society activists.

Protesters claimed that young person Parkash Kachi Kolhi disappeared near the Wagah border in Lahore while travelling to India, along with his other eight family members. Dr Nirmila, sister of the missing youth Parkash Kachi Kolhi, told The News that her nine family members were on way to participate in the religious festival Maha Kumbh in India when Kolhi went missing at the Wagah border on February 21.

She said no information has been provided about his whereabouts, adding her parents’ health has deteriorated due to the shock. A petition for his recovery has now also been filed in the Sindh High Court, Mirpurkhas bench.

Dr Nirmila Kachi further added that some time ago, an attempt had also been made to abduct Parkash from his home, Panhwar Colony, Mirpurkahs, Sindh. She said she has contacted the police for help, but to no avail.

She further stated, “My brother is a trader. No criminal case has ever been filed against any member of our family.” Dr Nirmila has appealed to the government and police authorities to ensure the safe recovery of her brother.
