He said that laptop computers had been given to 8,000 students from underprivileged families.
He informed media persons that 50,000 students were enrolled in the free IT training programme being conducted at the Governor House.
Tessori said that an order had been given to procure 8,000 solar power systems that would be given to the deprived households whose monthly consumption of electricity was less than 300 units.
He said concerned philanthropists and donors had been financing all these welfare and educational initiatives launched by the Governor House.
Tessori appealed to the mass media to highlight the welfare projects launched by the Governor House so that more philanthropists could join in the efforts to assist needy families in the province. He said the Governor House had been completely apolitical since he had become governor.
He said the classes of the free IT training programme had been continuing for the past six months and none of its students had been asked to promote any particular political party.
