The report titled “Rights of People and State of Flood Rehabilitation in Sindh” highlights the inadequate rehabilitation efforts and unsatisfactory provision of basic services in Sindh, even one and a half years after the devastating floods. The study, conducted by the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), focused on three districts: Khairpur Mirs, Dadu, and Mirpurkhas. It reveals that millions of people are still deprived of essential services such as drinking water, housing, education, and healthcare. The government’s slow pace in the rehabilitation process has caused distress and anxiety among the flood-affected population. The report also mentions the issues of politically influenced relief support, lack of attention to vulnerable groups, and the contamination of drinking water due to stagnant pools of water.
