SHRC Takes Suo Motu on Hindu Girls’ Abduction Case

The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has taken suo-motu notice of the alleged abduction and possible forced conversion of three Hindu girls — Diya, Jiya, and Disha (daughters of Bhagwan Das) — from Shahdadpur, Sanghar.
The SHRC has issued a formal notice to the SSP Sanghar under its statutory powers (Section 4(1)(ii) of the Sindh Protection of Human Rights Act, 2011) demanding:
-An urgent investigation
-A report to be submitted on 23-06-2025.
Forced conversions and underage marriages are illegal and unconstitutional in Pakistan. This matter must be given top priority.
SHRC remains committed to protecting minority rights and upholding religious freedom as guaranteed under Article 20 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
