SHRC Urges NADRA To Aid Minorities with CNIC Registration

The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), in collaboration with SPARC and various government bodies, requested the support of NADRA to deploy a Mobile Van System for CNIC registration. This initiative targets minorities and brick kiln workers in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas, aiming to provide essential identity documents required for accessing basic rights and services.

The request aligns with NADRA’s “Identity for All” week, scheduled from September 16th to 20th, 2024, and emphasizes the importance of CNICs in enabling socio-economic and political empowerment, particularly for marginalized communities. The SHRC seeks NADRA’s aid in addressing the fundamental needs of these communities and reducing the registration gap.
