The Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee on December 11 announced that all public and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed from December 22 to 31 for this year’s winter break.
The spokesperson added that schools will reopen as normal on January 1, 2026, while supplementary examinations conducted by the education boards will continue as per schedule during the holiday period.
Earlier, the Punjab School Education Department officially confirmed the schedule for winter vacations across all public and private schools in the province. The announcement came after directives from Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
In a formal notification, the department revealed that winter vacations would begin from December 22, 2025, and run until January 10, 2026. During this period, all schools remained closed due to the annual winter break.
“The schedule was finalised keeping in view weather patterns and the convenience of students and parents,” said Hayat. The break was aimed at providing students with relief from the expected harsh winter conditions.
Academic activities across Punjab were to resume from January 12, 2026, according to the notification. The department instructed all school administrations to ensure full compliance with the issued holiday schedule, ensuring a smooth transition when schools reopened.
